Total Quality Management (TQM) is a management philosophy and a quality process designed to prepare a company for challenges in a dynamic and competitive environment. The emerging importance in TQM has triggered various companies to rethink their approach towards achieving business excellence. The authors have developed a framework encompassing three critical success factors; customer focus, total participation and process improvement, which lead to TQM status. The framework is designed to facilitate a company in shaping its vision and strategies to sustain a competitive edge.
