Summary: | Localization systems are widely used in the world today to keep track of the location of many different objects. From our own location to the location of various objects, from a position on a map to the relative position in a building, many different systems can be used to detect and display the information on a screen.
In this project, the feasibility of implementing the NorthStar InfraRed (IR) Sensor as a localization system for a mobile robot in an office environment is tested. The NorthStar IR Sensor System consists of two parts, a projector, and a detector. The projector projects infrared light spots onto the ceiling of a room, while the detector senses the light spots and calculates its position relative to the projector. |
