All these are questions that should be addressed as soon as possible as our nation undergoes another era of change. With the younger generation nursing higher expectation on the standards of living and age catching up on the current hawkers, the threat of extinction of our local fare is very real. Using the perspectives of both young and old hawkers alike, supported with experts’ views and the public’s opinion, we attempt to shed light on the potential directions that our food culture will be taking.
