Description
Summary:According to World Health Organization, each year, there are 15 million people who suffer stroke. Among these people, around 5 million of them are disabled permanently due to the stroke. In order to help them to link their brain intentions and their limb actions stroke disabled patients must go through physical therapy. The therapy involves helping patients to move their limbs base on their intention. Because of the huge and increasing number of disabled stroke patients, the research of robots that can use to help the patients in their therapy increases. The project is to design and research to make a robotic system to help the stroke patients in their therapeutic recovery. The project will be using an industrial robot coupled with a force sensor to replicate the assistance of a therapist.
