Summary:This report comprises three parts. The first part will give the reader an understanding of Quality Control Circles (QCCs). It covers the definition for QCC, its history, its movement in Singapore, the roles of its participants, its training and lastly the QC process. The second part will focus on the two manufacturing firms, Philips and Micropolis. It describes how both companies developed their QCCs, maintain QCC performance through incentives and rewards and how their QCCs are being evaluated. In addition, this section will illustrate the benefits and problems encountered by both firms in the use of QCCs. The final part will deal with the comparison and evaluation of both companies so as to serve as a reference to companies which are interested in developing QCCs.
