翻译、意识形态与创造性叛逆 :以冯唐《飞鸟集》译本为例 = Translation, ideology and creative treason : case study of stray birds in Chinese by Feng Ta

Proposed in the 1990s, the "Cultural Turn" led cultural studies to dominate the subject of translation studies, while marginalizing the linguistic aspect of translation. By establishing the translator and translation as the focus, translation studies examine the various influential factors in translation. This thesis will expound on the primary reason behind the recall of Stray Birds, as well as, explore a different interpretation of the translation. The rewriting theory suggested by André Lefevere and the concept "Creative Treason" proposed by Robert Escarpit will be respectively employed as the theoretical framework for the first and second half of the thesis. Lefevere proposed patronage, ideology and poetics to be three manipulating factors of translation, whereby ideology is concluded to be the main reason behind the recall of Stray Birds after analysis. As a concept that accords with the nature of the cultural turn, creative treason will be a suitable approach in reasoning Feng Tang’s translation outside the linguistic perspective. In essence, this thesis aims to provide a new outlook in the relationship between translation and ideology, as well as, the interpretation of translation with respect to the paradigm of cultural studies. |
