Summary: | PLTP Kamojang is one of power plants in Indonesia that utilizes geothermal energy. PLTP Kamojang consists of 3 units with a generated power is 30 MW for Unit 1 and each of 55 MW for Unit 2 and 3. To optimize the geothermal energy, then we do redesign the system used.
To increase the power generated, then designed a system that can lower the condenser pressure. Condenser pressure of 0.1 bar absolute initially decreased to 0.079 bar absolute. To achieve these conditions is done by adding the
rate of cooling water to condense the steam. The rate of cooling water required is 3200 kg/s, which is channeled through two parallel pipes. In addition, the gas extraction system is also designed to support the changes of condenser pressure.
In the wet bulb temperature environments ranging from 12oC -29oC has done an analysis of the power generated by the system. The result shows that with this system redesign, the generators power of PLTP Kamojang Unit 2 can be increased up to 1.25 MW. In addition, the gas extraction system is also simulated.
Gas extraction system is used to attract the non-condensable gases from the condenser so that the condenser pressure is not increased. The results showed that the gas extraction system designed can be used to attract the non-condensable gas. |
