The objectives of this research were to determine the antioxidant activities of leaves, cortex, and peel of pomelo by determining IC50 of DPPH scavenging activity and EC50 of phosphomolybdenum capacity, total phenolic, flavonoid, carotenoid content, their correlation with the IC50 DPPH and EC50 of phosphomolybdenum, and correlation between IC50 DPPH and EC50 of phosphomolybdenum. Extraction was performed by reflux apparatus using with increasing polarity solvents. Antioxidant activity, determination of phenolic, flavonoid and carotenoid content were conducted using UV-vis spectrophotometry. Correlation between total phenolic, flavonoid, carotenoid with IC50 of DPPH and EC50 of phosphomolybdenum and correlation between IC50 of DPPH with EC50 of phosphomolybdenum ????ere a????alyzed by Pearso????’s method. The lowest IC50 of DPPH scavenging activities was given by ethyl acetate cortex extract of pomelo (0.69 µg/mL) and EC50 lowest phosphomolybdenum capacity provided by the ethyl acetate leaves extract of pomelo (110.36 µg/mL). Phenolic compounds in leaves, cortex, and peel extracts of pomelo were the main contributor in antioxidant activity by DPPH method, while carotenoid compounds were the main contributor in phosphomolybdenum method. DPPH method had no linear result with phosphomolybdenum method in leaves, cortex, and peel extracts of pomelo. text |
