Summary: | This thesis, entitled the Zapper with Microcontroller for Meat Products, is about the implementation of the zapper in order to prove that it can significantly decrease E. coli bacteria. The Hulda Clark Zapper individually produces an output of positive offset voltage and is basically used for curing sicknesses in humans. A load cell sensor was used to get the input weight and an instrumentation amplifier AD620 was used to amplify the signal of the load cell. The load cell output will correspond to a designated weight input that is programmed in the microcontroller. The PIC16F877A mincrocontroller was used to vary the input power, with the help of relays, relay drivers, and voltage regulators of the zapper.
The two types of testing, namely Quantitative Polymerase Chain Reaction (QPCR) for the microscopy testing and Flourescence spectroscopy, were used in order to prove the success of bacteria killing that both produced excellent results in terms of bacteria elimination with no negative effect on the meat. |
