Understanding and managing transitions from a Congregational-run and managed school to a Diocesan school in the Philippines is the focus of the current study. Data were collected through in-depth and semi-structured interviews and observations by the researcher. The dissertation presents case studies of five Catholic basic education Schools in the Philippines that were formerly ran and managed by religious congregations. These schools underwent transitions and were eventually turned over to respective dioceses. A Cross-case analysis was used to draw emergent themes. Initially, the study revealed that in managing a transition process, a basic education Catholic school leaders and stakeholders go through three phases namely: Phase 1 – Managing and Initiating the End of current educational mission; Phase 2 –Managing the Emotional Dimension of transitions; and Phase 3 – Managing and Sustaining Change. The role of the school leader is pivotal in order to facilitate the transition. The emergent framework can be utilized by religious congregations, dioceses and archdioceses in managing effective and efficient transition processes from a Congregational-ran and managed schools to a Diocesan Catholic Schools organizations. 2020-04-01T07:00:00Z text application/pdf https://animorepository.dlsu.edu.ph/etdd_elmd/4 https://animorepository.dlsu.edu.ph/cgi/viewcontent.cgi?article=1001&context=etdd_elmd Educational Leadership and Management Dissertations English Animo Repository Catholic schools--Administration School management and organization Educational change Educational Administration and Supervision
