Summary:This exploratory study aims to understand the similarities and differences between Japanese and Singaporeans in their writing strategies towards persuasive and negative messages. In addition, explanations were given to account for any similarities and differences in this study. The evaluation is determined by assessment of message components, which includes Position and Extent of Main Message, Extent of Reader Benefits/Explanations, Message-sidedness, Self-centeredness and Attempts to Cushion Blow.
