Description
Summary:This project aims to develop a fully functional autonomous robot to provide developers and researchers an affordable platform to test various real-life scenarios. The robot is constructed with an internal frame to support the overall structure and it is covered with 3D printed cases to provide an appealing appearance. It consists of a three-wheel mobile base and a unique single-arm design located at the waist level of the robot. This is to achieve autonomous navigation, object retrieval, and delivery. Furthermore, these tasks can be easily requested by a graphic user interface that able to record and assign tasks to the robot. The robot system relied on open-source software called Robot Operating System. This system provided a reliable software infrastructure that allows different software packages to interact with one another. Furthermore, this report will elaborate on different open-source packages that build up the processing system of the robot to achieve the desire capabilities. The project demonstrates the software availability and potential that hope to prevent developers and researchers to redevelop the same output that is available in the market.
