Description
Summary:The escalating issue of food waste in Singapore, particularly in hawker centres, poses significant environmental and economic challenges, with 813,000 tonnes of waste in 2022 amounting to a $342 million loss. This project introduces an innovative web application to mitigate this waste, enabling customers to pre-order and customize meals from various stalls and providing stall owners with a dynamic inventory management system. Built on React, FastAPI, and MySQL, the application's client-server architecture ensures real-time monitoring of inventory and orders, aligning with Singapore’s sustainability goals. This approach not only modernizes the hawker centre experience but also serves as a scalable model for addressing urban food waste, marking a significant advancement in responsible food resource management.
