Summary:This study explored the nature of collegial interaction and the relationship between collegiality and teacher development in Singapore. Specifically, the study examined the forms of collegiality, factors associated with collegiality, forms of teacher development and the forms of collegial interaction that relate significantly to teacher development. Stratified sampling was used to select the teachers from five secondary schools and two junior colleges in Singapore. A questionnaire, consisting of 26 close-ended items and 14 open-ended items, measuring the extent of collegiality, the factors affecting it and the forms of teacher development, was used to collect data to answer four research questions.
