儿歌是伴随许多孩童成长的歌谣,也形成许多人难忘的童年记忆。许多耳熟能详的儿歌都反映着儿童的生活和情趣,朗朗上口的曲调使儿歌的传唱性极强,为孩童的生活增添趣味的同时,也不忘授予孩童良好价值观以及知识。各个国家也有自己不同语言的儿歌,这些儿歌也经常被翻译,让歌谣在不同国家、语言地区也普及化。 本文将着重分析在可唱的儿歌翻译中如何保留“童趣”,专注于英译中的儿歌。中文版的儿歌也将以中国大陆普通话版本为准。本文将先从功能理论学派汉斯·弗米尔(Hans Vermeer)的“目的论”(Skopos Theory)的角度看儿歌翻译如何保留“童趣”,讨论其中的翻译目的以及策略,再从翻译家许渊冲提出的“三美”...

Most Nursery Rhymes reflect the lives of children and aid in their imagination. The melodies are light-hearted and easy to follow, making them widely sung worldwide. The songs impart children with knowledge while being fun to listen to and follow along. Many countries have their own Nursery Rhymes, which are also often translated to be sung in different languages. This article will analyse how singable translations of Nursery Rhymes retain their “childlike features”, focusing on English to Chinese Nursery Rhymes translation. The Chinese version of the Nursery Rhyme would follow Mainland China’s Standard Mandarin Chinese version. This article will discuss how Hans Vermeer’s “Skopos Theory” help to retain “childlike features” of the source text to the target text and the translation techniques involved. The article will also discuss Xu Yuanchong’s “Three Beauties Theory” in retaining the “childlike features” of the translated Nursery Rhymes, looking at the beauty in sound, sense and form.
