Description
Summary:Geothermal energy source in Indonesia is very large, reaching 27 GW. If this energy can be maximized, it can fulfill national electricity demand in the future. One of the geothermal power plant in Indonesia is Kamojang Unit 2

Geothermal Power Plant which is managed by PT. Indonesia Power. This geothermal power plant uses direct dry steam cycle and can produce 55000 kW generator power or 52538 kW total net power. In this final project, the plant system is modified using a combined cycle, which combine the dry steam cycle with binary cycle.

In the first modification, condensing turbine is replaced by back pressure turbine, and the steam output is used to heat the binary fluid. In the first modification, the total net power that can be generated is 49481 kW, smaller than the power of existing geothermal power plant. In the second modification, steam output from back pressure turbine is separated on the separator, saturated steam turbine used to drive condensing turbine and the hot water is used to heat

binary fluid. Total net power that can be generated is 53011 kW, larger than the existing geothermal power plant. In this second modification, it was also analyzed if the system does not use a binary cycle. This system without binary cycle can generate 52947 kW total net power, larger than the existing condition but smaller than the second system with a binary cycle.
